Soul Calibur: Broken Destiny, and Tekken 6 announced for the PSP

Namco-Bandai revealed today that both the Soul Calibur and Tekken series will be making their way to the PSP later this year.

Soul Calibur: Broken Destiny, is basically a PSP version of the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 title, Soul Calibur IV, minus the Star Wars characters.

In their place will be newcomer Dampierre, pictured below:

Yeah, he creeps me out, too.
The game will include many of the features of the console version, including the robust character creation system. There will, at least be over 20 characters, although the roster hasn’t been finalized yet.

While the title isn’t being billed as a 100% port, many of the modes that fans have come to know and love from SC IV will be in the handheld version.

Moving on to Tekken 6, Namco-Bandai was very cryptic about specifics, but revealed that it will release alongside it’s console big brothers, and feature additional stages, content, items, and an ad-hoc multiplayer mode using “original” and “fan favorite characters.”

It looks like PSP owning Fighting Game fans have a lot to look forward to when both titles release sometime later this year.
