Bethesda Falls Short Again

The long awaited Mothership Zeta pack is out to complete the Fallout 3 downloadable content. With it, I would like to nominate Bethesda for the Buggiest Game Released on an Unsuspecting Public Award.

Immediately after the installation, I booted up the game to yet another glorious crash. This time, I didn’t make it out of the first cut scene before disaster struck. Rebooting, the game froze in the same spot and so forth and so on. At this point, the game is unplayable.

If reinstallation doesn’t solve the problem, I have a few questions for my formerly favorite game company. What is their take on the crashes? Do they plan on releasing a patch to fix this nonsense? And if they don’t plan on addressing the problem, how fast will they refund my money?

Edited to add: reinstallation took care of the initial problem. The game continues to crash at random intervals, though it is by far, the least buggy of the DLC.

  1. i agree. this is totally inexcusable.

we’ve spent $50 on DLC for Fallout 3, and the majority of the time has been spent rebooting the console due to an obscene number of freezes and crashes.

i have never played a game this buggy in my entire life.

Bethesda has been given quite a few free passes when it comes to their buggy, glitch ridden, crash prone games over the past 10 years, but they need to be called out for it or they’ll never fix it.

there’s no point in having a large scale game with tons of content when the player can’t even access the content because the game is broken.

i really enjoy Fallout 3, but this DLC debacle is ridiculous. it’s completely inexcusable.

    • It’s absurd. I don’t recall another game crashing. Period. It has been Bethesda all the way.

      Resistance 2: 0 crashes
      Demon’s Souls: 0 crashes
      Uncharted: 0 crashes
      Uncharted 2: 0 crashes
Little Big Planet: 0 crashes/3 or 4 online crashes
Prince of Persia (the latest): 0 crashes
      Batman Arkham Asylum: 0 crashes
      Heavenly Sword: 0 crashes
      Folklore: 0 crashes
Ratchet and Clank Future: 0 crashes
Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion: somewhere between 10-20 crashes
Fallout 3: I’ve lost count, but it was averaging 10 times every 2 hours.

I’m losing my patience because Fallout is such a fun game when you can actually get it to run.
