PS3 Update 3.15 To Include Option To Play PSP Minis

Word from the Playstation Blog revealed that the next Playstation 3 update, 3.15, will include a host of new features, including the ability to play PSP Mini’s on your Playstation 3.

When the update hits December 17th, the Mini’s will be available on the Playstation 3’s Store. For those that already own Minis for their PSP Go, they will simply have to download the Mini from the network. I’m hoping this is just one step closer to having all PSP games playable on the Playstation 3 in the future.

The optional firmware update also allows gamers who have purchased more than one Playstation 3 console to transfer data between the two consoles. This includes everything from save and game data, to videos, photos, and music. The new PS3 will have to be activated in order to use downloaded Playstation Network titles, but being able to transfer all game data is a big plus (as a person who has owned a Playstation 3 that died, it would have been nice to have this feature a year ago, and thus not lose any of my game progress).
