I’m Back!

Posted in Editorials, Industry, News on December 11, 2013 by Stefano Terry

Oh, Select Start Games, how I’ve missed you! I’ve been absent from active duty here for far too long, for reasons both selfish, as well as personal. In either case, I’ve returned to try and breathe some life back into SSG after such a lengthy hiatus. I admit to not having much to discuss today, but we’re in the midst of new console season, so I’ll be looking to cover the PS4 and Wii U in the near future (I currently only possess a PS4, and will have to purchase a Wii U at some point soon). Sorry to say that the Xbox ONE isn’t on my personal list of devices that interest me, so I won’t be covering that console any time soon. I certainly wouldn’t scoff a unit turning up on my doorstep, but I’m unfortunately not made of money, and can’t just buy every console that releases!

I plan on updating with more reviews, editorials, and maybe a few more surprises if my schedule permits it!

I apologize for the long wait, and I may not publish as much as I’d like, but I’m back!

Hey folks! It’s been pretty busy for me lately, so I haven’t been able to update as often as I’d like, but today is rather special for me!

As some of you are aware, I was in the inFAMOUS 2 User Generated Content (UGC) Beta back in April (I wrote some nifty impressions on the beta here:

David O’Russell Leaves “Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune” Film

Variety reports that Oscar nominated director David O’Russell has left helming the “Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune” film due to “creative differences.”

I don’t know about you, but I’m fricking ecstatic about this news. I’ve never seen “The Fighter,” and I have no doubts that it was a good film. I also really loved “Three Kings,” but I personally don’t think O’Russell was going down the proper path for an Uncharted film. Continue reading

God of War 3 Review

Posted in Editorials, News, Playstation 3, Reviews with tags , , on May 18, 2010 by Stefano Terry

Genre: Action/Adventure

Platform: PlayStation 3

Developer: Santa Monica Studios

Price: $59.99 (USD)

The final installment to Sony Santa Monica’s dark Greek epic has been 3 years in the making, and as a long time fan of the God of War series, my own personal anticipation for the title was at an all time high. So much so that I decided to do something a bit unorthodox and wait a few months before writing this review. I wanted to make sure that my hype and excitement for God of War 3 didn’t cloud my judgment of the game. I feel that a lot of reviews are driven by hype (whether positive or negative hype), and not a true evaluation of the game itself. While I may not wait nearly as long before posting a review as I did for this one, do expect this to be more of a regular occurrence from here on out. Without further ado, here is my take on God of War 3. Continue reading

I won’t post all of the information, but some interesting tidbits, courtesy of an article on Playstation Informer has me really excited for it’s release. You can read the full list at the link above, but here are some things I found worth noting about Little Big Planet 2: Continue reading
